I can't get my ipod nano 7th generation go connect to the ear buds. It won't recognize the ear buds-it just keeps saying searching for device

I tried to connect my JBL Reflect BT wireless ear buds to my iPod Nano 7th generation, but the iPod won't recognize the ear buds. It just keeps saying searching for device, but never connects.

Are you sure you are manually pairing them correctly ? Have you tried pairing to a third device ? When you pair do the ear buds indicate pairing with a change of their LED color?
