My method wireless headphones would say 'power on' and then once it connected to my phone in a second or two it would then say 'connected'. One day it just stopped and I don't know how to turn that feature back on. I found that feature super convenient and would really love it back on.

Correct. But, although it may seem trivial, I really liked the feature of it audibly letting me know that they were connected and would really appreciate it's return.
