I have a pair of JBL Tune 500BT headphones, and I've been experiencing a weird issue. Just happened all of a sudden and I don't know how to fix it.

The problem is basically the damn thing won't connect to anything. I have two devices that are paired with it, and it won't connect to either. I even tried pairing them again, and even though the headphones are in pairing mode, nothing picks them up.

Other symptoms: the audio cues for turning the things on and off, and entering pairing mode, don't occur anymore. Also, it seems to no longer time out. You know how the things will turn off after X number of minutes. Yeah, it's not doing that anymore. I can keep them on for hours, even though they're not connected to anything.

I already tried resetting them by holding down the volume buttons. All I can see that doing is changing the rate at which the blue light blinks, before going back to a faster rate.

It's also not even turning off correctly. I see the white light indicating it's on, and so I hold the power button down, and eventually, the light turns off, and the moment I release the power button, it turns on again. I have to hold it for a few seconds longer before the light will stay off. And I mention the light because the light is literally the only way I have to tell if it's on or off.

I'm currently trying to drain the battery by leaving them on as long as possible. Hopefully that'll reset everything, but I'm pretty sure that's unlikely. Plus, that'll take a while. But I have no idea what else I could do.

Can anyone offer any clue as to what's happening? Did I put it in some kind of development mode and not realize it? Is there another way to do a factory reset that I am unaware of?

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Addendum: I just noticed at this very moment, I'm hearing a very very faint buzzing noise, which tells me the speakers themselves are receiving some kind of power. But beyond that, I don't know what's going on.

So, I finally solved it by holding the power button for 30 seconds, which did a factory reset. I thought I did this earlier, but I guess I only held it down for 29. But what baffles me is that I still don't know what happened. Did I toggle some obscure setting or something? If anyone has any idea, please share.
