I have tried using the fully charged battery and using the power cord, but I cannot get the unit to power on. The buttons do not turn red when unit is plugged in via wall outlet or battery.

The USB is working because I can charge my bluetooth speaker on it. The power cord is good because when I plug it into the bag of riddim it will emit a little spark - so I know there is power going in.

I tried the holding the power on and volume + buttons at the same time for 10 seconds, but still no power on. I also tried holding the power on and bluetooth button, but still nothing.

So to clarify, it works if on mains power but when on battery it's dead ? Considering the age I would suspect that there is a fault with the internals of the battery.

Responding to Colin (Admin) who responded December 30th 2019 at 7:04 pm.
No it does not work with main power or battery power. I have a little bluetooth speaker that I can plug into my Bag of Riddim USB port and it will charge. As a result I know the unit is getting power and I am sure my batteries (I purchased 2) are fully charged. So to reiterate what I just said; the unit does not power on with the power cord or the battery, but the USB port is still working.
Thanks,Herold

We've not had others report this issue so far Harold. We will keep an eye out and update the post here if we get any useful information. Until that time I would have to conclude that this is an internal fault with the unit and it is unlikely you will be able to resolve without professional help. Have you tried contacting Marley and is it possible that it is within warranty ? https://www.thehouseofmarley.com/customer-support/returns

I also have the same issue. Won't activate at the power button source. I have had luck popping the battery in and out sometimes will reactivate it. Also the battery has a power in and for a while it worked plugging it in then loading it the battery bay. It's a lottery and I really love this old piece. Wish they would service it for me.

I have the same problem, all be it intermittently. I found this bag of Riddim in a dumpster behind my office and it worked fine! Apparently the intermission issue had somebody else throw it away. Since then it has stopped working a few times and seems to respond after a sharp slap to the front of the unit, sometimes. So I leave it in place in my office now and don't move it and it works great. There must be a loose connection common to all of these that are having the problem.

Update Nov 2022.

I used pure alcohol to clean the contacts of the battery as well as the terminal and it now fires up then I can pull the Cord as the battery is Still good. The Speakers are so warm sounding as they age... Hope this helps!
