JBL Everest 700 Won't Power On

I've had these headphones for a few years and until the last 4-5 months they were great. But then, it became increasingly hard to power them on. I think the power button is failing or something. Here's why. At first, after holding it down nohting would happen, it would take several attempts before they would respond and turn on. Occasionally, even though they were paired with my PC or phone, it would go straight to pairing mode and I'd have to unpair and re-pair to get it working. As months went on they became less and less responsive. Now the will not power on whatsoever rendering these headphones completely unusable! They are charged, and upon charging the indicator light does go on, and then turn off when charging is complete so that part works, it's just that I can't get the things to power on anymore. Is it possible to repair this somehow so I can use these again?? JBL will not offer any help as I'm past the 1 year warranty.

We don't have any knowledge of this at Bt Dr but maybe if someone see's this post and has experimented they can share their experience ?!

I had the same thing happen , charged them up , they would't turn on . Hold down on the on button for about 15 seconds . then let off and try to power on . Was a suggestion for the 450,s . worked for me!

tried that a million times. there is no life. doing google searches I came up with replacement batteries to buy, but I disassembled them and can't find a battery to replace. totally stumped and disappointed w/these. Won't be buying JBL again :(

Same issue. They were difficult to turn on and off. Had to hold the button for 30-40 seconds. Worked yesterday, on charger all night, now nothing. I will not be purchasing JBL again either.

My second pair. First paired died after 10 months or so. They were under warranty so JB Ill replace them at no charge. My second pair now worked fine for months and now as soon as I went to update to the latest firmware they wont power on. They worked fine before the update. I think JBL speakers are great, Ive owned them since the late 70s. Head phones not so much. I think Im done with her headphones.

I am having the same issue as Gene. I was using them this morning and the notification for a firmware update popped up so I tried to install it and now my headphones won't even power on or respond to the functions of a reset. I would really hate to not be able to use these headphones again :/

Hi, I am having the same issues with my Jbl everest elite 300s not turning on after an attempted firmware update. Please let me know if anyone has a solution for this.

Gene, Salmo, Jeff; please contact JBL about this. They sound dead and this isn't your fault if it occurred in a firmware update. I would hope that JBL can assist. Please attempt to contact them via https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and let us know how you get on.

Holding the power button on for 15 seconds, then trying again, like Brad suggested, also worked for me. Only the first time though, it may not keep working.

I continued to have problems , soon they would not turn on at all , had to upgrade to 750 costing another 100.00 $ to get them warrantied. These seem much better .

This is what worked for me. While plugged in, holding the power button for 15-20 sec then removing power and turning the device on.
