Has it always done this or just recently ? Does changing your location alter the frequency of the issue? It could be that interference in certain locations is making it worse.

What about the battery charge, are you sure that is good ?

Thank you for your response, Chris. Both the keyboard and the tablet are new. The location is a quiet residential neighbourhood so interference should not be an issue. Both units are well charged, but I will try topping both of them up. I will also try moving the pair to another room. On some Windows computers I have seen settings that alter the time a key is held before a second character is assumed, but I can't find anything like that with the Amazon Fire HD 10 or the Arteck keyboard.
