I had an older LG phone - had no issue pairing my car and phone. The new LG cannot be found and then pairing times out

The pairing times out at which end, the car or phone ? Definitely reboot the phone before trying again. Also in the settings of the handsfreelink, I'd delete old pairings. To do that..
However, you might need to delete one in order to add a new phone, or you might want to remove one if you no longer have that particular phone. Heres how to do that:
Press the phone button. Choose phone setup and press the button on the center knob. Choose connection and press the button. Choose delete a phone. Scroll through the phones and choose the one you want to get rid of. Press the center button. Choose yes if youre sure and then press the center button again. You should see a notification that the phone was deleted.
