I turned on the headset, and then connected to my phone as usual, and the headphones will play music for about 5-10 seconds and then shut off completely.

From another post, try to reset following these instructions...
There is a switch near of the power button. Press it three or five times. Then hold the power button about 40-50 seconds. When hold the power button connect to the charge. So LED starts to lightning.

There isn't a switch near the power button, the only other thing on it is the volume buttons and the pause/play button.

Sorry for the unclear instruction Matthew. Can you try turning on and then holding the power button down for many seconds (at least 15/20) and see if the lights change status indicating a reset?

When I did this, it was white for a second like usual and then it started flashing blue and it stayed that way the entire 20 seconds after which it turned off.

When it's flashing blue are you able to see it if you search on your phone in this time ? It may be that you need to hold it even longer as well, try 40 or so seconds to see if that provides a different result.
