Connection is not a problem. I'm playing pandora through the adapter connected to a Yamaha HDR 5540 receiver. When I do, it only plays one speaker. All other components play both speakers, including the CD player and the television. Not sure whats going on. Thank you.

Are you sure your cables are ok ? Can you swap out to verify ?
