Does turning on and off work or has it been effectively locked on ? To be sure, you are holding the power button down long enough when you try to force pair by holding the power button down ?

My wi-c400 was charged overnight. Now, the light is pink-purple and it won't shut off. Resetting by pushing the power and play/pause? button for 7 seconds does nothing. The power light stays lit and will not connect to my smartphone. What else can I try? What is the SONY phone number or chat link for tech support?

I am having this same problem and don't know what to do and Sony's tech support kinda just blamed it on me not having a laptop or computer to charge my earbuds on

I fixed mine. Even though the light was pink and would not shut off, I plugged in the micro usb recharging cable and the light turned RED. I then reset it by pressing the power button and the play/pause button for 7 seconds. I could turn it off or on again. SUCCESS.

I solved this problem too. Reconnected the headset to charger, the light turned Red, then i pressed the start/stop and the play/pause buttons together for 7 seconds and the lights flashed blue and the back to red. Then i removed the charger, turned on the set and it is working again.

I am using a Sony WI-C400 and for the past day it has shown the indicator light on (it is purple). I have tried charging it. Resetting it and attempting to go back to factory settings but it seems that the buttons are not responsive.

Vijay, the solution by Sumedh doesn't help ? When you plug it in does the light go from purple to red ?

Thanks for this page.
However, when I plug USB in, the light remains purple and all buttons remain unresponsive.
Thr User Manual only talks about red and blue lights. Help please!

I think once your device has this purple light, it is best to send it in for replacement if you have the warranty, or replace it with something else more reliable. I had mine for a few months and it now shows the same signs of not being able to pair and a constant purple light. The first time it happened, my music just died, the lights started flashing, and it won't turn off, and when it did, it refused to charge for almost 2 days. Then it worked for another few days and died again the second time, but I got to reset it. And here I am today, back for the third time with a permanent purple light. Call up your local support center if you want, but since these are already cheap, it is too much of a hassle to get it fixed. If you have these problematic symptoms once, you will definitely have it again later and Sony aren't that responsive anymore, so it's best to find something else instead. For those who still wish to try and fix it, use the Sony USB cable provided, or a good quality cable, and connect it directly to a laptop or PC USB port. Do not use any phone chargers, wall chargers, or USB hubs.

I am having the sane problem with my WI-C400.
Blinks blue/purple constantly with 1 second intervals. Cannot pair with device (iPhone). Will not turn off when I press and hold the power button. Will not give power setting when I press power button briefly.
Tried forgetting device with the iPhone, and now the iPhone cannot discover/find the device. Other devices it has never been paired with also cannot find it as an option.
Tried plugging WI-C400 into plug in phone charger AND PC USB; it still wont turn off and stop blinking. Light stays blue/purple and blinking instead of turning to the steady red of charging. Tried pressing "(+)" and "()" buttons together and holding for 10+ seconds anyway (to reset) -- no response.
Cannot think of anything I did to harm it. It was working fine, and then it wasn't. Didn't drop it, hit it, get it wet, or anything.

I have the same problem. I did get it to reset once or twice by hooking it to the Laptop. However, it then fails again and is now locked up. Sony is of no help at all. They say it is past its warranty so no way to help. This is a real pistol since my headphones have not been used much, never abused, and it is clear to me Sony knows about this manufacturing or design flaw.
