Apple products such as iPhones, iPods and iPads are limited in terms of their ability to provide fairly standard Bluetooth functionality such as file sharing between devices, especially when the Apple device is connecting to a non-Apple device such as an Android smartphone. For details of the file sharing issue see: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18884705/transfer-data-between-ios-and-android-via-bluetooth
There are apps though that can be installed between two Smartphones that can assist with file transfers!

Have you deleted the pairing and paired over again ? This can sometimes assist.
Other than that, its possible this could be caused due to the system being worked harder on the more demanding new version of the operating system and auxiliary services such as Bluetooth streaming suffering performance issues as a result. In relation to this I would evaluate everything you have installed, especially any apps that remain memory resident and try uninstalling them for a bit to see if that improves performance. If still no joy its possible a wiping of the device which would keep you with the latest OS version but be basically free of apps and likely a little faster .
