Spotify used to autoplay when I got in the car -- then it stopped

This question relates to connecting a Samsung Galaxy S8 BUY NOW to Tesla Model Y BUY NOW

I started playing Spotify through Bluetooth to my Tesla about 5-6 weeks ago. Worked like a charm: when I exited the car, the Spotify player paused. When I came back, the player automatically started up again where it left off. Just what I wanted.

Then a few weeks ago, it quit working so smoothly. Every time I get in the car, I have to manually start the player. Sometimes the Play button in the Tesla is grayed out, and I have to dig out my phone and open Spotify. I don't have to do anything in the app, it starts playing as soon as I open it.

Any guesses why it stopped working so well?

We've not heard of anything obvious that could have caused this. Has either the car or phone received a software update recently that could be part of the issue ?

One obvious thing to try is to unpair, DELETE the pairings that are saved in the devices an then re-pair. Have you already tried or can you now ?

Well that was easy !!

I deleted and re-paired, and now it works like a charm. The Bluetooth disconnects as soon as I exit the car and close the door, and it re-connects as soon as I get in and close the door. Just like it's supposed to.

There haven't been any recent software updates to the phone, but the Tesla gets one every week or three. Maybe one of those messed it up. Good to know deleting and re-pairing fixes the problem! Thanks for your help!
