Tzumi ProBuds Sport Series will not pair to any device

I've had two other sets of tzumi earbuds and have never had a problem pairing them. I just bought the ProBuds sport series (with a short wire between the buds) and can't get them to pair to either my phone or kindle devices. I've read the manual, I've read some questions and answers on here, but they mostly talk about how to pair the earbuds that are individual. Anyway, if I can't figure this out, guess they will have to be returned.

Can you confirm what lights you get on the device? Does it appear ready to pair?
