I have my device connected to my PC but the volume control is completely disabled. It just plays at 100% and cannot be adjusted with the volume mixer in Windows 10.

You are sure the volume mixer in windows is selected to the Bluetooth output and isn't still controlling the separate volume output for the systems defaut output device ?
